Following renovations to the concrete box base building, Backcountry became a destination brewery attracting both locals and tourists. Bringing warmth, character and humor with a ski-chalet feel transformed the nondescript Squamish industrial location. An intentional choice allows the production space to be visible from the tasting lounge, and a full kitchen turns out pizzas that accompany the beer. The tasting room has been expanded with a subsequent renovation, and a shipping container patio added for the warmer months.
Over the last ten years Jason has always been quick to address problems and come up with practical solutions. These are priceless qualities when under construction or trying to a permit issued. Not all architects are created equal!
